Born in India, Ritvick is a filmmaker who began shooting and producing his own films at a young age. After moving to Canada in 2015, he refined his craft through the Sisler High School Interactive Digital Media Program. Graduating with honors and earning multiple scholarships, he went on to study film production at Vancouver Film School.

Following his graduation, Ritvick produced and directed The Flower Movie for the RUN N GUN 48 Hour Film Festival, where it was nominated for Best Film, Best Director, and Best Editor, and won Best Student Short Cinematography at the East Van Showcase, In 2019, he became a finalist in Gimli Film Festival’s RBC $10,000 Pitch Competition. That same year, he received funding from Harold Greenberg Fund and Manitoba Film and Music to produce and direct his first animated short film, Lover Boy’s Little Dream.

The film was selected for numerous festivals around the world and became part of Telefilm’s Not Short on Talent cohort, Canada’s official showcase for short films at the Cannes Film Festival in 2021. It was also nominated for Best Short at the Director’s Guild of Canada Awards in 2022. Recently, Ritvick completed his first animated feature-length screenplay titled Star Crossed Lovers. The film follows high school sweethearts Naota and Yuuho, who mutually break up to pursue their own paths. However, as they navigate through their adult college lives, their longing for each other only grows.

Currently, Ritvick is developing his second feature-length screenplay, set in India, while also working on a visual art project, Love and Growing Pains - a series of two-to-three-minute animated shorts exploring his personal experiences and evolving definition of the word “love”. He is also developing a short film centered around Banaras, drawn from his personal experiences.
